Power tariff review delayed to next quarter
The regulator wants another round of submissions.
The energy regulator has delayed its review of electricity tariffs to next quarter.
The review was due to conclude this month. The regulator said it wanted a further round of public submissions before deciding.
What happens now
Current tariffs stay in place until the review is complete. The regulator will hold public hearings in four cities, and written submissions can be made through its website.
The power utility has asked for an increase to cover maintenance of its generating stations. Consumer and business groups have asked for any increase to be phased in.
